Join us for the dance film premiere of Tracing Abandoned Tracks
Our modern dance film based loosely on “Chattanooga Choo Choo” is intended to celebrate and honor how dance can lead to community-led change. Collaborative Roots–a collective of dance artists (Kyle Dagnan, Cherokee Ellison, Monica Ellison, Jessi Faircloth, Kenny Glatt, Beth Herring, Kenny Keawekane and Ann Law)--created Tracing Abandoned Tracks focused on the question, How do we create a future we all want to live in? Along with filmmaker Tane Hopper, the reggae band Milele Roots and poet Marcus Ellsworth, Collaborative Roots reflected on their own experiences to inform the creation of a new version of an old “classic” that speaks to a diverse present and future.
Funding for this project comes from ArtsBuild, CoPAC, and Tennessee Arts Commission.
