Trumpeter Antoine Williamson—aka Steely Bruno—has been sharing his talent and energy around Chattanooga for many years. He has perhaps been seen most frequently in recent years with Milele Roots. We’ve always enjoyed hearing his warm, melodic trumpet in our Jazz in the Lounge Wednesday evenings. He has been a force in music education, whether through his Doors Open Jazz organization or working with Dexter Bell and others in the school system.

Antoine did all this in spite of having an incurable, rare cancer, and he passed away from this cancer just days ago. Dexter invites anyone who is so moved to come jam to the Steely Bruno spirit. Funds raised—whatever you can offer—will go directly to final expenses and Antoine’s family.
