We are DELIGHTED to welcome the EG Kight Trio back to Barking Legs! Her show last fall was a sell-out, so get your tickets early.
EG Kight, a Dublin, Georgia native and longtime Chattanooga favorite, will bring her acoustic trio to Barking Legs Theater to celebrate the release of her tenth Blues album, Sticks and Strings. EG wrote nine of the ten songs on this release with six of those being co-written with Ringgold’s Tom Horner.
The EG Kight Trio will take you on a journey with a musical conversation that moves your soul and allows you to see a little of yourself in each line.
As she celebrates over 25 years as a blues artist, Kight’s long and successful career is more proof that the blues is alive and well, and that all ages relate to the music. “The blues is about capturing a genuine feeling and being real, it’s everyday life” Kight says.
Kight has been touring as a trio, with two of her long-time band members - drummer/percussionist Gary Porter and guitarist/dobro player Ken Wynn. The audience will appreciate this stripped-down version allowing for a tighter show with sweet harmonies, harp, percussion, drums, dobro, and acoustic guitars."
Kight’s 2021 release, The Trio Sessions, garnered three “acoustic album of the year” nominations from various music industry organizations, and EG received three “female artist” nods as well.
With 18 total music industry nominations, songs in TV and film, as well as having several artists record her songs, singer/songwriter Kight has no plans to slow down. No matter the stage, wherever she’s making music, she’s at home. It’s what she does. It’s what she loves…
