THIS EVENT IS A PART OF BARKING LEGS THEATER’S 30TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!
It is absolutely true that there would be no Barking Legs Theater if Ann Law and Bruce Kaplan hadn’t gotten to know the Shaking Ray Levis—Bob Stagner and Dennis Palmer—when the Levis visited NYC in 1987. Just ask us for the details.
Bob is supremely inventive drummer, and Dennis was one of the real innovators of live synthesizer, as well as vocalist, raconteur and highly evolved visual artist (the Yellow Dog in our lobby is by Dennis).. Dennis’s untimely death was now 10 years ago. Bob has done an amazing job carrying on their joint mission in the years since, and shows co-produced with the Shaking Ray Levi Society have been a highlight of our offerings at Barking Legs.
Bob has put together a pretty spectacular lineup for the evening, and here are a few tastes. Murray/Stagner, The Heroes Are Horses, Jon Brumit . And through it all, the inimitable Mr. Stagner.
Student admission just $10 at the door.
Our Community Connectors for the evening are The Shaking Ray Levi Society (of course) and Chef Kenyatta Ashford of Neutral Ground. Between 6:30 and 7:30, Kenyatta will be offering his delicious Louisiana Hand Pies at a modest price (which will pair nicely with a Hutton & Smith on draught) and sharing the latest updates on his plans to open Neutral Ground not far from the Legs.
WAIT!!!
Why pay for one show when you could see more and save money with a BL30 Pass?!
