From classwork to the stage, Encompassing Dance! is a fun-filled week of exploring the work of multimedia modern dance pioneer Alwin Nikolais. We will be embracing his wild wondrous world of combining costumes, sets and sounds in our dance making. The goal of this camp is for participants to be able to creatively express themselves while learning about a very important choreographer. Every day, healthy snacks will be provided by Barking Legs Theater to keep everyone replenished. On Friday at noon, parents and friends are invited to the dance concert created by the participants. A cake reception in the backyard will follow and copies of the performance DVD will also be available. From classroom to the stage, all participants will be involved: -technique training -studying dance history that focuses on the choreographer Alwin Nikolais -making costumes, soundscapes, and theatrical sets -creating choreography -performing new work For more information and to register:annlawdancing@gmail.comwww.barkinglegs.orgfacebook event page: Encompassing Dance!
