Michael Schluter Photo / Beppe GambettaContemporary Performing Arts of Chattanooga welcomes Beppe Gambetta, award-winning acoustic guitarist from Italy, to Barking Legs Theater on Friday, Sept. 27, at 8 p.m. Appearing with Gambetta will be bass virtuoso Rusty Holloway. Barking Legs is located at 1307 Dodds Ave.

After 11 CDs, DVDs, teaching books and collaborations with many other top-flight musicians, Gambetta is increasingly known as one of the true master innovators of the acoustic guitar. His music melds influences ranging from Doc Watson to Italian arias."It has been a privilege and pleasure to host Beppe Gambetta every two or three years," says Bruce Kaplan, Barking Legs music director. "He usually performs solo, but this year he has upped the ante by inviting Rusty Holloway to join him. Rusty is one of the most extraordinary bassists you'll ever hear, and he excels equally on both upright acoustic and electric bass. This is an evening not to be missed."Tickets are $17 in advance, available on barking legs website.
