Pierre Bensusan, David Greenberger bring new music to Barking Legs

After a three-year sabbatical, French-Algerian acoustic guitar virtuoso, vocalist and composer Pierre Bensusan is returning to the United States and Canada to present the music of his new album "Azwan."Additionally, the scores from "Azwan" plus a selection of popular pieces have been published in his new book, "The Pierre Bensusan Guitar Collection."On Friday, March 13, Bensusan will kick off his North American concert tour with a CD release celebration for "Azwan" at Barking Legs Theater. There will be a post-concert party with cake and refreshments for the audience with the guitarist.Bensusan was winner of the Independent Music Award for his triple live album "Encore," voted Best World Music guitarist by Guitar Player Magazine reader's poll and winner of the Rose d'Or at the Montreux Festival.Then on Wednesday, March 18, David Greenberger will be in Barking Legs to talk about the making of his new abum, "Good Perspective," and play selections from it.Greenberger spent three weeks with clients and staff at Signal Centers. He developed more than 50 monologues from the conversations he had during his time in Chattanooga.He then collaborated with his ensemble, Prime Lens — keyboardist Tyson Rogers, drummer Bob Stagner and bass player Evan Lipson. Rogers began composing music for the monologues Greenberger would voice.
