Sounds of Motown Set For July 28 at Barking Legs

[yt video="lL0u8an2XZs" width="560" height="340" /] The Chattanoogan.com | July 20, 2013The Creative Underground begins its 2nd annual Eclectic Summer Concert Series with a tribute to Motown's distinctive soul-infused pop music sound that solidified its popularity in American culture, and showcase Motown's impact on all music. Sounds of Motown will be held Sunday, July 28, at Barking Legs Theater. Motown, once known as Hitsville USA, propelled the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and many more.“Motown shattered barriers, shaped our lives and made us all move to the same beat,” states Shane Morrow, director of TCU. “As successful as Motown was as a hit maker, its cultural impact may be even greater. The performance is a musical journey and will have all that attend up from their seats.”TCU Eclectic Series was created to feature different mixtures of musical genres, from soul to country, paying homage to the original artists as well as bringing forth an array of local individuals to the stage.
